Wessels’ offers a full line of specialty tanks for specific applications.
Blowdown Tanks (ASME)
Wessels’ Blowdown tanks are manufactured to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Designed to 125 psi. The function of a blowdown tank is to allow undesirable discharge from the boiler to be discharged directly out of the system. The vessels are manufactured in over 40 sizes based on inlet/outlet and venting design requirements. The vessels are engineered for steam systems from 20 to 800 psi., and pressure ratings to 300 psig.
Chemical Pot Feeders (ASME / Non-ASME)
Wessels by-pass chemical feed tanks are designed for reliable induction of chemical treatment into a closed loop system. Typically used in hydronic and process piping systems. The tank shall incorporate a chemical fill basin with a minimum dimension of 6” to help facilitate complete introduction of required solutions.
Centrifugal Solids Separator
Wessels CFS-Series Centrifugal Solids Separators are designed for in-line or slip-stream low flow filtration of entrained solids from a liquid system. This filterless separator achieves the removal of 50 micron and larger solids through centrifugal force and friction. Fluid enters the separator at a tangent and creates a vortex within the unit.
Epoxy Lined Storage Tanks
Epoxy-lined storage tanks are epoxy lined carbon steel vessels. They are designed for commercial and industrial systems that require internal protection more robust than traditional fabricated plain steel designs. The tanks are designed to store water for a potable water or water heating system.
Flash Tanks (ASME)
Wessels’ flash tanks are manufactured to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Designed to 125 psi. The function of a flash tank is to allow high-pressure condensate to flash and a reduced pressure steam. This reduced pressure steam is then used to supply heat to a “low” pressure supply main.
Glass Lined Storage Tanks (ASME / Non-ASME)
Wessels’ engineers have created special epitaxial glass crystal, up to 1,000 gallons, combining alkaline borosilicate and cobalt ferrite, resulting in a long-lasting glass coating, fused to the steel tank wall at 1600®. This Wesglas® represents industry’s leading means of protecting vessel walls against corrosion.
Primary and Secondary Headers
Wessels Primary / Secondary Headers are used in heating and cooling systems that require the primary and secondary loop of their system to be interlocked. The PSN is designed to keep both connected hydraulic circuits completely independent from one another and to provide a means for system air elimination.
Stainless Steel Tanks
Stainless steel tanks and air separators are used mostly for commercial and industrial systems that require the highest quality materials, construction and protection from corrosion and noise. Wessels’ stainless steel is often referred to as severe service or the SS Series.
